The Malta Maritime Forum (MMF) congratulates Jonathan Pace, a Maltese national, whose long service to International Maritime Organization (IMO) has been duly recognised upon reaching a 20-year career milestone.

A Long Service Award Certificate in appreciation of Mr Pace’s years of service and contribution to the work of the IMO was, in fact, conferred to him by Secretary General Kitack Lim.

This achievement is testament to Maltese professionalism. It signifies a proud moment for Mr Pace, for the Maltese maritime community and all those who have worked closely with Mr Pace both at IMO and previously at the Malta Maritime Authority. Before joining IMO, whilst in the employ of the Government of Malta, Mr Pace was intrinsically involved in the formulation and implementation of merchant shipping polices and related legislation including important amendments to the Merchant Shipping Act and participated in various international maritime fora (including IMO) as part of Maltese delegations. He was also strongly involved in the establishment of the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) in Malta and in the Malta-EU accession negotiations on shipping.

The Malta Maritime Forum augurs every success to Mr Pace for his endeavours towards the international maritime cause in the years to come.
