Online gambling firm Aspire Global Plc has finalised the acquisition of B2B group and global game aggregator platform Pariplay for €13.1m in cash in line with the initial conditions announced on 28 June, according to a press statement sent to Business Malta. The transaction received the approval of the respective authorities

Through the acquisition Aspire Global expects to “control yet another crucial part” of the iGaming vertical, looking into creating synergies, broadening the game portfolio and providing a channel to distribute and sell propriety games outside Aspire Global’s partner network.

Pariplay has hundreds of proprietary game titles complemented by more than 2,000 games from leading third-party providers on its B2B platform. The game portfolio is certified for several regulated markets in Europe, including Denmark which will be launching shortly. Moreover, Pariplay has cleared an iGaming certification for New Jersey, which Aspire Global is expecting to leverage.

Aspire Global says the acquisition of Pariplay strengthens B2B-business through external game sales — accelerating growth, creating synergies and saving costs with an expected positive effect on overall EBITDA as of 2020. For 2019 however, the transaction is not expected to have any material effect on Aspire Global’s financial results.

“We are excited to welcome the Pariplay team to Aspire Global. The acquisition of Pariplay is in line with our M&A strategy focusing on B2B growth and external game sales,” says Tsachi Maimon, CEO at Aspire Global.

The integration of Pariplay grants us control of yet another crucial part of the iGaming value chain – cutting costs, broadening the game portfolio and providing a channel to sell and distribute propriety games outside Aspire Global network. Moreover, Pariplay holds an iGaming license for New Jersey, which could act as the spearhead of our future efforts to enter the US market,” Mr Maimon adds.

The post Aspire Global finalises Pariplay purchase first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.

UK-based wealth management platform Dolfin completed its acquisition of the business of London-based Falcon Private Wealth Ltd, according to a press statement. Dolfin has an MFSA-authorised subsidiary in Malta.

Dolfin believes that the transaction will help expand and diversify its client base considerably by adding around 300 new wealth management accounts to the business, with an additional $800m of client assets bringing the total of Dolfin’s client assets to more than $3b, the press statement says.

With the transaction going through, Falcon Private Wealth’s staff of 14 is joining the Dolfin team.

“The successful completion of this deal is important for two reasons. Firstly, it adds scale in terms of high-quality clients and wealth managers, in line with our international and emerging market strategy. Secondly, it demonstrates the huge appeal of our platform to demanding private clients and their advisers from many different parts of the world and – crucially – that, after six years in business, we have the management and execution capability to take on substantial new business despite the operational complexity involved,” says Denis Nagy, CEO at Dolfin.

“In my mind, this cements Dolfin’s position as one of London’s fastest-growing wealth management platforms, the natural partner for clients and private bankers who want to get things done. We look forward to welcoming our new team members, and to offer our new clients both continuity in excellent relationship management and an enhanced range of services,” the CEO adds.

Dolfin is the trading name of Dolfin Financial (UK) Ltd, a company authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and registered in England and Wales. Some of the services described are provided by Dolfin Asset Services Ltd, a company registered in Malta authorised and regulated by the Malta Financial Services Authority. Dolfin Financial (UK) and Dolfin Asset Services Ltd are subsidiaries of Dolfin Group Ltd, an exempted company organised under the laws of Bermuda.

The post Dolfin buys peer Falcon’s business first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.

Malta-based Telco firm Melita acquired the local operations of Ozone, a licensed operator specialised in servicing business customers, according to a press statement issued by the Maltese company. The transaction is still subject to regulatory approval.

“This acquisition complements strategic investments made in recent years to strengthen Melita’s and Malta’s offering to business clients. We see Melita as an enabler for local businesses wishing to leverage digital technologies,” says Harald Rösch, CEO of Melita Ltd. “Similarly, we provide solutions for international companies in key industries such as gaming, financial services, [distributed ledger techonolgy] DLT and [artificial intelligence] AI to ensure they consider Malta as their natural home in Europe for establishment and growth,” the head adds.

Boutique service provider Ozone was established 15 years ago and primarily specialises in B2B services, such as cloud PBX services, network infrastructure, Wi-Fi hardware and software solutions, hospitality solutions, as well as business broadband and fixed-line telephony over its wireless network.

“Backed by Melita’s state-of-the-art Data Centre, resilient international connectivity, fibre presence in business centres as well as nationwide gigabit internet and a brand new 5G ready mobile network, we are confident we are placing ourselves in a better position to offer a stronger and better service to new and existing clients,” says Robert Runza, Managing Director of Ozone.

Should the acquisition receive the green light from regulatory, the new brand will be called “Ozone by Melita Business”. The companies promise that existing clients will be ensured continuity, while Melita’s infrastructure will be leveraged to offer a wider service portfolio and improved quality of service,

“Ozone’s services portfolio complements the current offering of Melita Business and will fit in well with our approach of offering a one-stop-shop telecommunications service to business clients. Beyond the products we share a similar commitment to dedicated and quality customer support,” says Malcolm Briffa, Director of Business Services at Melita.

The post Melita to acquire Ozone local operations first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.
