New additions to the schedule include Cairo and Warsaw. The airline is also thinking of launching flights to Ibiza and Tbilisi.

This summer schedule sees increased frequencies to/from Paris Charles De Gaulle, Hamburg, Kiev, London Heathrow, Lyon, Munich, Tunis, and after an absence of 12 years Air Malta is planning to resume flights to Egypt’s capital, Cairo. For the first time, the airline will also offer scheduled services to/from Warsaw.

Further to this, the airline is evaluating a peak holiday service to Ibiza and Tbilisi, the schedule for which might be released in the upcoming weeks.

“In line with our stated objective to improve customer experience, this summer we will welcome two more brand new Airbus A320NEOs to our fleet which will offer added comfort to our customers,” the chief added.

This summer Air Malta will be operating direct flights to Amsterdam, Birmingham, Berlin, Bristol, Brussels, Bucharest, Cagliari, Catania, Casablanca, Cairo, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Geneva, Hamburg, Ibiza, Lisbon, Leipzig, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, London Southend, Lourdes / Tarbes, Lyon, Kiev, Malaga, Manchester, Marseille, Munich, Milan, Moscow, Palermo, Paris Charles De Gaulle, Paris Orly, Prague, Rome, St Petersburg, Tel Aviv, Tbilisi, Tunis, Venice, Vienna, Warsaw and Zurich.

Apart from the scheduled services, in cooperation with local travel agents, Air Malta is operating an interesting series of charter operations this summer to Ljubljana, Dubrovnik and Krakow.

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion Carmelo Abela emphasised the importance of facilitating peace in the Middle East at the Warsaw Conference on Peace and Security, according to a press statement published by the Maltese government’s Department of Information.

The foreign minister attended the Ministerial Meeting to Promote a Future of Peace and Security in the Middle East, in Warsaw, jointly organised by Poland and the United States. Minister Abela underlined that unless peace returns to the Middle East, there can be no peace anywhere else in the world.

He stressed that such a favourable result could only be achieved through joint and coordinated efforts, and ensured that Malta supports all-inclusive dialogue, and is ready to stand bs any initiative that progresses towards peace.

Attending a session on countering terrorism and illicit financing, Minister Abela said terrorism had become a borderless crime, and that only closer cooperation of governments and law enforcement authorities can effectively fight against terrorism.

Minister Abela was accompanied in Warsaw by Permanent Secretary Fiona Formosa and Malta’s Ambassador to Poland John Paul Grech, according to the DOI press statement.

The post Foreign minister urges restoring peace in Middle East first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.
