AX The Victoria was recognised as Malta’s Top 10 Hotels by TripAdvisor, according to a press statement published by AX Hotels. The accolade comes a week after an award from booking.com recognised AX The Saint John.

Based on reviews and opinions from millions of travellers, AX The Victoria was given the Travellers’ Choice awards by TripAdvisor, ranking the hotel in the top 1% of all hotels, the press statement says.

“Last year AX The Victoria has gone through a total refurbishment, and I am thrilled that people are responding to it so positively. Our hotel is all about treating our guests like royalty in a classic Victorian style. As I like to say 5-star service in 4-star accommodation,” says Kevin Callus, AX Hotels Sliema Manager commented about the award.

“I was very pleased to learn about the awards that our chain AX Hotels is receiving. Our mission with each of our properties is to offer outstanding service within unique and distinctive surroundings,” says Claire Zammit Xuereb, AX Hospitality Director. “So each of our properties has the edge over each other as well as our competition. AX The Saint John is designed with an Industrial concept in mind while still blending in the Baroque aspect of the building, thereby creating a unique experience – it’s ideal for tech-savvy, independent travellers. While AX The Victoria honours the Victorian style and offers comfort that couples or families would seek in a city hotel. A hotel with a special charm driven by its people. I am glad that our vision translates into guests’ positive experiences. Well done to AX Hotels’ teams,” the director adds

AX Hotels is one of the largest hotel chains on the island and is a member of AX Group. This hotel chain consists of six hotels and will open doors of its 7th property mid-2019, the company says.

The post Two AX Hotels receive accolades in one week first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.

Melita Ltd teamed up with EY Malta in becoming the primary sponsor of the 2019 EY Rising Star Award, according to a press statement the telco published. The annual EY Malta Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognises an individual who has been in business in Malta for at least two years with “outstanding” performance.

In the third year of organising, EY claims to have two main objectives. On the one hand, they are trying to promote entrepreneurship across the Maltese Islands, while on the other hand, they are making efforts to empower entrepreneurs to grow their businesses locally and globally.

An independent panel judges the award made up of key figures from the business community.

“The EY Entrepreneur of the Year programme is a great opportunity for Malta-based business leaders to showcase their talent, opening up the possibility to also network and compete with the very best in the world in Monaco,” says Ronald Attard, Managing Partner at EY Malta. “With every edition, more organisations such as Melita are recognising the value of these awards and their potential to empower entrepreneurship and offering their support to ensure their continued success,” he adds.

The winners from both categories are flown to Monaco in June 2019 where the winner of the main award competes for the grand prize, the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The event brings together national winners from more than 60 countries, selected from a pool of over 5,000 nominees, the press statement says.

“The EY Rising Star Award always brings to the fore an individual who is relatively unknown but who has created something outstanding, and who fully deserves recognition,” says Mireille Muscat, Head of Marketing at Melita. “At Melita, we are inspired by innovators and entrepreneurs and are driven to empower them with our cutting-edge technology, including nationwide Gigabit internet and the most advanced 4.5G mobile network. Our commitment to innovation and technology, for the benefit of our customers, makes Melita a natural partner for EY’s Rising Star Award,” she adds.

The winners of the two previous editions of the award were Shane A. Hunter from AquaBioTech Group in 2018 and David Vella from Altaro Software in 2017.

Applications for the 2019 EY Malta Entrepreneur of the Year Award and EY Rising Star Award close on 15 February 2019. Applications can be made at the official website of the event.

The post Melita appears as main sponsor for EY Rising Star Award first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.
