999 final deeds of sale relating to residential property registered in June – NSO

In June 2025, the number of final deeds of sale and promise of sale agreements relating to residential property amounted to 999 and 1,107, respectively, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said.

Final deeds of sale

In June 2025, the number of final deeds of sale relating to residential property amounted to 999, an increase of 2.7% when compared to those registered in June 2024, the NSO said. The value of these deeds totalled €297.3 million, representing an increase of 19.7% when compared to the corresponding value recorded in June 2024.

In the month under review, 882 (or 88.3%) of these final deeds of sale involved individual buyers (households), with companies accounting for virtually all remaining deeds, it said. “The value of the deeds involving individual buyers (households) amounted to €224.8 million, equivalent to 75.6% of the total value.”

Final deeds of sale by district and by locality

In June 2025, the highest numbers of final deeds of sale were recorded in the Northern Harbour and the Northern districts, with totals of 283 and 191 deeds, respectively. On the other hand, the lowest numbers were registered in the Western, and the Gozo and Comino districts, at 90 and 118 deeds, respectively, it said.

The highest numbers of final deeds of sale were recorded in the following localities: St Paul’s Bay (60), Mosta (55) and Birkirkara (52). The sum of agreements recorded in these localities corresponded to 16.7% of the total final deeds of sale registered during June 2025, the NSO said.

During the month under review, the number of properties transacted in the final deeds of sale was equivalent to 1,114. Apartments (413) and Garages (263) accounted for the largest shares, at 37.1% and 23.6%, respectively.

Promise of sale agreements

In June 2025, 1,107 promise of sale agreements relating to residential property were registered, equivalent to an increase of 2.5% over the same period in 2024. Individual potential buyers (households) accounted for 990 (or 89.4%) of these agreements, while the rest mainly involved companies.

Promise of sale agreements by district and by locality

The largest numbers of promise of sale agreements related to residential properties were registered in the Northern Harbour district with 336 agreements, followed by the Northern district with 192 agreements. On the other hand, the lowest figures of promise of sale agreements were noted in the Western, and the Gozo and Comino districts, at 119 and 120 agreements, respectively, it said.

The highest numbers of promise of sale agreements were recorded in the following localities: St Paul’s Bay (89), Birkirkara (68) and Marsascala (49). The sum of agreements recorded in these localities corresponded to 18.6% of the total promise of sale agreements registered during June 2025, the NSO said.
