A Bank of Valletta Mother’s Day surprise

With gatherings prohibited, lunches cancelled, family meetings postponed, frontline mums away from their children and elderly mothers self-isolated, Mother’s Day 2020 was set to be like no other.

So Bank of Valletta decided to uplift the mood and possibly turn a meaningful yet more difficult day into a better one by springing a surprise on some of its mummy customers.

A couple of weeks ago, BOV launched a social media contest asking its followers to submit a video message to their mum.  A number of these messages were then compiled into one clip and shared on Mother’s Day auguring well all mothers and those who give motherly love.

All the nominated mothers were then surprised with a home baked delicious cake and a card delivered to their home. The cards, individually handmade by a BOV staff member, also contained the message of appreciation sent by their children.  Three of the nominees were randomly selected and won € 100.

“Wow, this was so unexpected!  My daughter’s message made me cry and now I understand why she didn’t want me to run an errand on Saturday!” stated one of the mothers. “Although we couldn’t celebrate Mother’s Day as we normally do, Bank of Valletta and my daughter truly brought a huge smile to my face!”
