Alfred Sant has been chosen as the replacement for Miriam Dalli as the leader of the Labour Party’s delegation at the European Parliament.
The party announced the news in a statement, saying that Labour’s executive had voted unanimously in Sant’s favour.
Sant will replace Dalli as head of delegation, after Dalli took up a spot in the Maltese Parliament – taking the vacant seat left by former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.
Sant, a former Prime Minister of Malta himself, is the Labour Party’s longest serving MEP, having been in the post since 2014.
