APS Bank appoints Martin Czurda as Director

APS Bank has appointed Martin Czurda as a Non-Executive Director, effective 21 August 2024. The Board co-opted him following a recommendation by the Bank’s Nominations and Remuneration Committee, and the MFSA has approved his appointment.

Mr Czurda holds a degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Vienna and a Doctorate from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. His career began in 1989 at Bank Austria, progressing to senior roles at Raiffeisen Zentralbank Vienna, Amsterdam Trade Bank, Adria Bank, Anadi Bank, and Valartis Bank. From 2017 to early 2021, Mr Czurda was CEO of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund. Currently, he is an independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Risk Committee at Finstella Ltd in Cyprus.

APS Bank Chairman, Martin Scicluna, stated, “We are delighted to welcome Mr Czurda to the Board. He will also join our Audit Committee and chair the Board Credit Committee. His extensive experience and fresh perspective will be invaluable in strengthening our Board’s expertise.”
