APS Bank held the second session of its #APSlife DEI Breakfast 2025 series, focusing on how we can better understand and support colleagues with neurodiversity. The event, titled Let’s talk about neurodiversity at work, took place on Thursday 12 June at the Swatar Head Office canteen and online via Teams.

Colleagues were invited to reflect on how increased awareness of neurodiversity in the workplace can make a significant positive difference for everyone. Small changes in communication and the physical environment can further enhance inclusion and wellbeing.

The Bank welcomed back Blaine Schembri, Disability Equality Trainer at the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD), who shared his personal insights on autism. He was joined by Christine Mifsud, also a Disability Equality Trainer at CRPD, who offered practical advice, best practices and shared her own valuable experiences of working in the field.

Blaine has supported APS Bank through several initiatives, including #APSlife Celebrating Diversity Breakfast and a #APSlife Toolkit. He also delivered an APS Business Talk available on the Bank’s YouTube channel.

Sue Vella, Corporate Culture Change Manager, commented: “Conversations like these help us connect on a human level. Understanding neurodiversity is not just about policies, it’s about empathy. We’re creating space for more open, honest dialogue – because that’s where true inclusion begins.”

The event included an informal Q&A session, giving colleagues a chance to share and learn from each other in a relaxed setting.
