Atlas Insurance is sponsoring the restoration of the British period guardroom situated inside the White Tower in Mellieħa, according to a press release sent to Business Malta. The room will be used for meetings and events.
The White Tower is in advanced stages of restoration, which is being carried out by non-governmental organisation Din l-Art Helwa.
“As a company, we believe in supporting the community, and in this case, the restoration of our precious heritage,” said Jackie Attard Montalto, Marketing and HR Manager of Atlas Insurance.
“Whenever we decide to support a project in the community, we endeavour to involve our colleagues in terms of the appreciation and work being carried out. Since agreeing to support Din l-Art Helwa, we have already held two cleanups of the grounds around the tower, and this tour has been our third staff activity,” Mr Attard Montalto added.
Atlas employees recently visited the tower to witness the development currently underway. The inspection was led by Martin Vella from Din l-Art Helwa who gave everyone a tour of the tower, the guardroom, and the Nemo Marine Interpretation Centre for children.
