Following months of extensive refurbishment, BOV has officially re-opened its branch in Żabbar. This outlet now forms part of a series of renovated BOV Branches that offer a customer-centric experience in a modern environment that incorporates several ESG-friendly concepts including sustainability and low carbon footprint. The Branch aims to be energy and water-efficient and uses natural, fast-renewing materials and electronic advertising to reduce paper use. Aesthetically, it has been designed in line with the newly refurbished branches of Sliema, Paola, Siġġiewi and Żurrieq.
Speaking during the official re-opening of the premises, Bank of Valletta CEO Mr Kenneth Farrugia highlighted several improvements that are being incorporated in the new layout at the Bank’s customer-facing units. “Our Branches remain at the heart of the community we serve. The customer-centric concept being introduced revolves around the evolving needs of our customers. We have embarked on two parallel journeys which will see us enhancing our omnipresence both on our digital channels and at our physical premises across Malta and Gozo. We have gathered feedback directly from our customers and customer-facing employees, and the improvements are being implemented according to the feedback we constantly receive. Our customers remain at the centre of everything we do, and this renovation is another building block in our efforts to offer a comprehensive and seamless service across all our channels.”
BOV Chief Operations Officer, Mr Ernest Agius expressed satisfaction with the completion of yet another Branch. “Extensive work has been carried out during the past six months. These go beyond just a face-lift or a basic aesthetic upgrade of the look and feel. Works included the upgrade of infrastructural systems and electrical and mechanical installations in line with today’s requirements. These in turn provide a more comfortable customer experience. Once work started, we also carried out some structural enhancements and other minor alterations. Following months of hard and extensive work, today we are proud to reopen Żabbar branch for the benefit and comfort of our customers.”
Following the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by BOV Chairman Dr Gordon Cordina and CEO Mr Kenneth Farrugia, the official re-opening ceremony proceeded with the blessing of the premises by Żabbar Parish Priest Rev. Evan Caruana. Present for the ceremony were a number of BOV employees, including the branch manager and the branch staff, Chief Officer Wealth Management Mr Simon Azzopardi and BOV Chief Operations Officer Mr Ernest Agius who accompanied Żabbar Mayor, Mr Jorge Grech and other distinguished guests around the premises. The Bank looks forward to welcoming all customers in this exciting new journey for the Branch.
