The spaces we shape, in turn, shape us. Design is more than what we see – it is how we live. For decades, Bathroom Design has carried this philosophy, creating living spaces where intention and wellbeing co-exist. Now, this vision expands as Bathroom Design welcomes Vivo into its Birkirkara showroom.

This new chapter is more than about proximity. It is the coming together of two aligned philosophies – both rooted in the belief that every home and bathroom deserves thoughtful design, and that beauty should be accessible without compromise.

Vivo has long been a trusted name in Malta, offering a wide collection of sanitaryware, bathtubs, shower systems, bathroom furniture, and accessories. Within the same space as Bathroom Design, the two brands create a broader range of offerings, serving differing needs while honouring a shared ethos.

“Our work has always been about more than the spaces themselves – it’s about the lives lived within them. With Vivo joining us at our showroom, we are able to expand our portfolio without losing the individual strengths of each brand. Clients will now find two philosophies in one place: united in values, distinct in experience. It is a natural step forward in our expansion” – The Management, Bathroom Design

Uncover Bathroom Design’s expansion as it welcomes Vivo to its showroom, celebrating these two chapters written as one.

Nestlé’s Purina, a global brand in pet care, announced its new partnership with Agrimed Malta Ltd during its inaugural veterinary event in Malta. The event served as an opportune platform for Purina to introduce Agrimed as its official distributor for the Veterinary Channel, focusing on the Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets range.

Held at The Westin Dragonara Resort Hotel, Purina’s Veterinary Event marked a milestone for the brand’s presence in Malta, fostering connections with the local veterinary doctors and nurses community. The event showcased the specialised Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets range, emphasising its unique features and functionalities tailored to address specific conditions in cats and dogs.

“The veterinary event was a remarkable debut for Purina in Malta, where we had the opportunity to present our Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets range to the local veterinary community,” remarked Fiona Picton, Veterinary Channel Business developer at Nestlé Malta. “The response from the veterinary doctors and nurses was positive, affirming the need for advanced science-based nutrition for pets.”

Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets offer a diverse range of clinical diets and related products, strategically formulated to bolster the efficacy of treatment protocols with targeted and proven formulas. These diets, backed by science and available by prescription only, empower veterinarians to optimise the health and well-being of pets with precise nutritional management.

While Purina’s specialised veterinary range has been accessible in Malta for a number of years, the announcement of Agrimed Malta Ltd as the official distributor for the Veterinary Channel reaffirms Purina’s commitment to enhancing pet care science-based nutrition in collaboration with local partners.

Katriel Coppola, Purina’s Product manager at Nestlé Malta stated that: “At Purina, we firmly believe that life is better with pets. Our collaboration with Agrimed Ltd seeks to empower the veterinary community in Malta, enabling them to provide pet owners with the best nutritional experience for their beloved companions,” concluded Coppola.

Purina looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with Agrimed Ltd, aimed at furthering the collective goal of supporting pet owners in nurturing their beloved animals through the power of science-based nutrition.

An Israeli medical cannabis company, Panaxia, has announced a €6 million investment and is set to deepen its connection with Malta as it plans a further expansion to its local production plant – thus increasing its capital investment.

This was announced during a visit to Panaxia’s Ħal Far plant by Minister for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise Miriam Dalli. The company has just obtained the GMP license for the facility in Malta upon the completion of the first phase of investment and will export their first products to Germany in the coming weeks.

Aart from the Malta plant, Panaxia operates from locations within the United States, Canada and South Africa, while also being in the process to register products in Portugal, Greece, Poland and Brazil amongst others. Its range of pharmaceutical products, over 60 in all, are mainly based on cannabis plant extracts and treat a variety of ailments including nausea, anxiety and depression.

Panaxia aims to enrich the Maltese production portfolio with products aimed for both Europe and Latin American markets. The Malta facility will therefore diversify into an array of products ranging from production of tablets, oil and extract production, as well as clinical trials, stability experiments and research and development.

During the visit, Minister Dalli, whilst thanking Panaxia for their trust in Malta’s jurisdiction, described Panaxia as an early success story for one of Malta’s newest economic niches.

“Malta Enterprise has been in discussions with Panaxia since the early days after the enacted legislation in 2018. Today, Panaxia is only marking the start of its actual production, but it is already planning an expansion in its facilities. This is another milestone reached for our medical cannabis industry – an industry which further enriches our wider pharmaceutical sector.

Following the adaptation of the European production standard EU-GMP, Panaxia will start production in the local facility in Malta.

Obtaining the license allows immediate start of export and marketing of finished medical cannabis products in European standard from Malta. The immediate largest markets are Germany, Poland, UK and Brazil.

“Obtaining the license will allow us to export from the facility in Malta our advanced medical cannabis products, such as the tablets and extracts for inhalation, and market them in various European countries. We are excited to have reached this long-awaited moment as well as the fact that we will now be able to have our products accessible to many more patients all over Europe”, Dr Dadi Segal, CEO of Panaxia commented.

Kurt Farrugia, CEO of Malta Enterprise said: “Panaxia is one of the first companies to obtain an LOI from Malta Enterprise, in order to be able to operate in the Medical Cannabis Sector. Together we embarked on a steep learning curve that saw us reaching this very important moment for Panaxia. Through such accomplishments, Malta is confirming its emergence as a hub for manufacturing and research in the Cannabis eco-system. We are very proud to be part of Panaxia’s journey and look forward to seeing the company grows and thrives locally”.

Obtaining this license alongside the recently adopted EU-GMP standard will allow Panaxia to produce medical cannabis-based products at a facility in Malta, which for marketing to certain countries in the world requires registration of the final product in the country of origin as well. Thus, the facility in Malta will allow the export of products also to countries that require registration of the advanced products (e.g., tablets and inhalation products) in the country of origin as a finished products. The largest and most immediate new markets to which the company is targeting are the British market and the Brazilian market.

These exports currently cannot be made from Israel to those countries, in light of the regulations in Israel, which do not allow the registration of such advanced products in Israel. Thus, the advanced products have been submitted for registration in Malta and will be exported from Malta to the destination countries requiring registration in the country of origin.

The post Panaxia announces production license of medical cannabis products in Malta first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.

Leading contract cleaning provider Briiz recently underwent a rebranding exercise to reflect the company’s decision to evolve its business as a reputable and reliable multi-service provider, offering customers a wider range of services and solutions, that still has at its core, its clients’ best interests.

The rebrand demonstrates a significant step forward in this dynamic company’s growth strategy to ensure it is best placed to take advantage of opportunities within the marketplace and forge ahead. In just five years of growth, the company’s reputation and client list has grown from strength to strength, delivering exceptional cleaning know-how and efficient, reliable, and flexible solutions to home and business owners across the country. It has remained at the forefront in creating a sense of confidence while delivering a high-quality service and building trustworthy relationships. During the pandemic, the company took significant steps to double its efforts in providing a professional, calm, and safe service, reinforcing its commitment to its client base. And throughout, its Net promoter score, a customer loyalty and satisfaction measurement taken from customers, has stood at 70 consistently.

First to harness digital to improve the customer experience, the technology-focused cleaning company was also first to support a more sustainable approach by introducing ecological domestic cleaning products that are gentler on the environment and are available for all to use. The rebrand coincides with the company strengthening its commitment to sustainability, working closely with customers to offer services which support their ecological journey. It also includes a top-to-bottom relaunch of the company’s website, social media platforms and communications.

“The refreshed brand aligns with Briiz’s forward-thinking philosophy and precise client focus in offering cleaning solutions that take all the stress off our clients,” says Sean Borg, the company’s Chief Executive Officer. “The rebrand is a pivotal milestone for the business, representing our vision for our future as one of the fastest-growing companies within the contract cleaning sector.”

The post Briiz announces major rebrand and new website to reflect renewed focus and strategy first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.
