The Maltese National Federation of the Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco launched their new project CheckIn in the presence of the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo. This took place at their new offices in Sliema.

CheckIn is a new project which focuses on supporting young people through a journey of exploration, self-growth, and active involvement in the community. Its aim is to create opportunities and facilitate experiences for young people to embark on a journey of self-exploration and engagement with nature, culture, and travel, with a focus on faith and spirituality.

Louis Debono and Marica Aquilina presented the new CheckIn brand logo and website. Guests attending the launch were also given a glimpse of other projects, with particular focus to one of the recent launched projects, CheckIn Camino – an app which offers a challenge to explore the natural, cultural, and social environments of the Maltese Islands through different trekking routes. Debono and Aquilina shared future and potential opportunities which the CheckIn team envisage for the upcoming year.

The Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo outlined that “this project understands faith tourism not only from a religious aspect but from a holistic perspective that addresses the spiritual as well as the physical, the social and the cultural. That is why, the various products of the project include non-formal education tourism, volunteering, cultural exchange, sports, and adventure tourism. It aims to give the participants, mainly young people and educators, an engaging learning experience that is directly related to Malta.”
