Debono Group has officially launched a sponsorship scheme aimed at empowering its employees to explore and excel in their passions, from motorsports to athletics and beyond. The programme was kicked off with a day of activities, highlighting the company’s commitment to personal and professional development across all levels of TeamDebono.

Geoffrey Debono, CEO of Debono Group, expressed his enthusiasm and support for the new initiative, stating: “The new scheme enables employees to explore ambitions well beyond the usual scope of corporate development programmes, truly allowing them to push boundaries in their personal and professional lives. By fostering a culture that supports and encourages our team to start their impossible, we actively invest in our people, empowering them to turn their dreams into reality.”

The launch day included the premier screening of a documentary about Maltese Paralympian Maja Theuma, whose narrative of determination and success reflects the core values of the new sponsorship programme and served as an inspiration to everyone in attendance. Maja, whose participation in the 2024 Paris Paralympics was supported by Debono Group as part of Toyota’s ‘Start Your Impossible’ campaign, joined the Debono team on the day, engaging in conversations and sharing insights and experiences from her journey.

The employee sponsorship scheme marks a promising start to an initiative aimed at broadening personal and professional opportunities for TeamDebono members. With the first day’s activities sparking interest and enthusiasm, Debono Group is optimistic about the diverse projects and personal achievements that will follow. As employees begin to leverage the support and resources provided, Debono Group is committed to nurturing their pursuits and following their progression within the framework of a supportive path toward innovation and accomplishment.
