Emirates SkyCargo and Express Trailers had a special passenger in the belly of the Dubai-bound Boeing 777: a Porsche Panamera.

At the very busy airport in the height of the travel season, fascinated onlookers watched as the Porsche Panamera was meticulously transported across the apron before being loaded into the cargo hold of the widebody passenger plane.

The luxury sports car received the VIP treatment from the moment its flight was booked. Express Trailers, a leading and trusted transport and logistics company in Malta, which provides a comprehensive door-to-door service, managed all documentation, vehicle handling and screening before the Porsche Panamera even reached Malta International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, an Emirates SkyCargo loadmaster, who flew in specifically to oversee the shipment, expertly directed the entire operation, ensuring the safe and secure handling of such high-value cargo.

Stephania Galea, Emirates Cargo manager, Malta commented: “Over the past 25 years, Emirates has connected Malta to more than 140 global destinations and has supported various specialist operations, including the transportation of vehicles, utilising our team of experts and world-class infrastructure. Through close collaboration with key partners, such as Express Trailers, we can serve Malta’s diverse range of freight needs, adapting swiftly to market demands and consumer expectations.”

Jesmond Mifsud, head of Sales at Express Trailers, added: “Accurate planning, clear communication, and the right choice of equipment, routes and partners, like Emirates SkyCargo, in the transport and logistics business, are very important because we take risk assessment seriously, which is why customers choose our services. Typically, Emirates SkyCargo uplifts an average of 10 tonnes of cargo every day, including high-value temperature control shipments, semiconductors, valuables, vulnerable and personal effects, among other key commodities from Malta.
