Elmo Insurance has announced its sponsorship of the Santa Lucia Football Club. Santa Lucia’s team, The Saints, will now begin sporting the Elmo Insurance logo across their uniforms. It’s a sponsorship that will nurture the club, and Malta’s favourite sport, for 3 years.

This year marks Elmo’s 40th anniversary, however it’s not the only one celebrating its long-standing history. Santa Lucia’s football club was founded almost 50 years ago – a testament to how while so much has changed, the club’s passion remains.

‘At Elmo Insurance, we put people at the heart of everything we do, so we always look for ways to give back to the local community,’ says COO Anthony Cauchi. ‘Malta has always been incredibly passionate about football, both local and international, and so supporting a local team is something we are honoured to do.’

‘After all,’ he says, ‘football, like any sport, is one that takes dedication, focus, and teamwork. Skills and lessons that one learns as a child first starting out in the club, and ones that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Skills that we at Elmo, encourage and instil in our team. We look forward to being part of a successful future for Santa Lucia FC.’

The Saints, under the presidency of Robert Micallef, have been working hard to strengthen the club in the last few years. Elmo Insurance will now join the list of companies who are already supporting the club, namely Multivend, Avanza Training Academy, Konica Minolta and Levissima and Mirya Limited.

‘I am very happy that Elmo Insurance have accepted to be one of the commercial partners of our club along with other companies,’ Micallef said in a statement.

‘We are very proud that as a club we are managing to attract a number of brands and companies of a certain level,’ he continued. ‘No doubt, this encourages us to continue working hard and reach the goals set by the club of Santa Lucia FC.’
