Gozitan tourism pioneer Lino Cefai passes away

Well-known Gozitan tourism entrepreneur Lino Cefai has passed away, aged 62.

Cefai was the founder of the popular Ta’ Frenc restaurant and director of Gozo Village Holidays. He is considered to be one of the first people who started renovating old properties in Gozo for holiday lets.

The Ta Frenc Facebook page paid tribute to Cefai: “We will miss your enthusiasm, knowledge, jokes you shared, the memories you created and the long chats we had. We promise to continue the legacy of the restaurant which you dearly held at heart together with your lifelong friend Ino and make you both proud.” 

The Gozo Tourism Association also offered its condolences.

The funeral will be held on Saturday at St George’s Basilica in Victoria, Gozo.
