As University of Malta staff continues to navigate through times of change, the Office for Human Resources Management & Development is providing more training opportunities to UM employees through its ongoing Training & Development Programme.
These training sessions are now being delivered virtually via a number of webinars, using Zoom, Google Hangouts and other similar video-conferencing software.
The webinars cover a wide array of subjects, ranging from staff and student wellbeing and self-care, addiction, to blockchain technology and internal procedures.
Taking into consideration the required engagement in remote teaching, these webinars are enabling staff to extend their knowledge and improve their job effectiveness while adhering to the social distancing measures currently in place.
“Keeping in mind the altruistic spirit at University, we are providing our staff and their colleagues with yet another opportunity to keep growing on a personal and professional level. Through these training sessions, we ultimately want to give them some added tools to help them navigate through this new reality, cultivate value in their working journey and help them maximise their potential,” said director Jacqueline Fenech.
Training is provided to the whole spectrum of UM staff members, from newly recruited employees to the specialised ones and for academic, administrative, technical and industrial staff. It is delivered in conjunction with the various UM academic entities, Administrative Directorates and Units and also in collaboration with several governmental and non-governmental organisations such as Sedqa and the Richmond Foundation.
