Malta Stock Exchange holds Annual Awards Dinner after one-year absence

The Malta Stock Exchange once again held its Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, 26 November 2021 at the Phoenicia Hotel. The Hon. Minister for Finance and Employment, Mr Clyde Caruana was the guest of Honour while other distinguished guests included regulators, financial professionals and executives representing many companies listed on the Malta Stock Exchange. Over 160 people attended and MFSA CEO Mr Joseph M Gavin was the keynote speaker.

In his opening speech MSE Executive Chairman, Mr Joseph Portelli expressed his pleasure at being able, to once again, hold the MSE Annual Awards Dinner after a one-year absence. He said, he was very pleased that despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic, thanks to the Exchange’s exceptional staff the Malta Stock Exchange still managed to perform well and to continue to offer an uninterrupted service to all stakeholders.

A total of five awards were presented on the night, and these covered both 2020 and 2021. The Lifetime Achievement Award 2020 was awarded to Farsons Group Chairman Mr Louis A Farrugia. The Company of the Year Award 2020 was presented to Mr Alan Borg, MIA CEO on behalf of Malta International Airport plc.

The Employee of the Year Award 2020 was awarded jointly to MSE CEO, Mr Simon Zammit and MSE Chief Human Resources and Corporate Services Officer Mr Alfred Sammut.

The Lifetime Achievement award 2021 was given to AX Group Founder and Chairman, Mr Angelo Xuereb.

Ms Therese Amato Head of Human Resources & Corporate Services Office was awarded the Employee of the Year Award 2021
