Malta tibqa’ bl-aqwa żieda fl-impjiegi u b’ekonomija tikber

Stqarrija tal-Eurostat turi li meta mqabbel mal-istess perjodu sena qabel, il-prodott gross domestiku ta’ pajjiżna kiber b’0.7%. Dan meta fiż-żona ewro kien hemm tnaqqis ta’ 3.1%. Dan jindika li minkejja l-pandemija, l-ekonomija ta’ pajjiżna marret aħjar minn dik taż-żona ewro bi 3.8%. Dan meta sa kwart qabel id-distakk kien ta’ 3.6%.

B’hekk il-Eurostat qed tikkonferma t-tbassir li għamlu diversi aġenziji internazzjonali li pajjiżna ser ikollu daqqa ekonomika mill-COVID-19 anqas mill-medja Ewropea. Minn fost il-pajjiżi taż-żona ewro kienu biss l-Irlanda, Ċipru u l-Litwanja li kellhom tkabbir f’dan il-kwart. Il-bqija tal-pajjiżi li jħaddnu l-munita ewro raw tnaqqis, bl-agħar riżultat ikun tnaqqis ta’ 5.4% fl-Italja.

Mill-istatistika jispikka li dawk il-pajjiżi li għamlu lockdown komplet spiċċaw b’telf ekonomiku formidabbli. Dan jindika kemm kienet għaqlija d-deċiżjoni tal-Gvern li jmur għal metodi anqas drastiċi imma xorta ferm effettivi biex iwaqqaf l-imxija tal-coronavirus.

L-istatistika tal-Eurostat indikat li saħansitra fl-ewwel kwart tas-sena pajjiżna rreġistra l-ogħla tkabbir fl-impjiegi meta wieħed iqabbel il-livell din is-sena ma dak sena qabel. Fil-fatt, f’pajjiżna kien hemm tkabbir ta’ 6.4% kontra 0.4% fiż-żona ewro.  It-tieni l-aktar pajjiż bi tkabbir kien Ċipru b’żieda ta’ 2.4%, jew kważi tliet darbiet anqas minn pajjiżna.

L-informazzjoni li tat l-aġenzija statistika uffiċjali tal-Unjoni Ewropea ġġib fix-xejn id-diskors li pajjiżna ma laqax tajjeb għall-effetti ekonomiċi tal-pandemija. Li kieku ma kienx hekk żgur ma kienx ikun osservat tkabbir ekonomiku f’pajjiżna filwaqt li fi ġġanti ekonomiċi bħall-Ġermanja, Franza u l-Italja diġà hemm riċessjoni. L-istess fejn jidħlu l-impjiegi, li kieku l-miżuri li ħa l-Gvern ma kinux effettivi, pajjiżna ma kienx ikun dak bl-akbar żieda fl-impjiegi.

Bil-pakkett ta’ riġenerazzjoni ekonomika mħabbar mill-Gvern, l-impatt pożittiv tal-ewwel pakketti ta’ għajnuna sejrin issa jservu bħala l-bażi ta’ fażi ġdida ta’ titjib soċjali, ambjentali u finanzjarju għall-familji u negozji tagħna.
