The working-day adjusted index of industrial production was down by 1.8% in April, as compared to the preceding year, while the seasonally adjusted index of industrial production decreased by 0.6% as compared to the preceding month, according to figures published by the National Statistics Office (NSO).
As compared to April 2018, a decrease of 13.4% was registered in the production of consumer goods. Nevertheless, increases were registered in the production of energy (29.6%), intermediate goods (1%) and capital goods (0.1%).
In April, the drop was chiefly affected by a decrease of 4.6% registered in the production of consumer goods, according to the NSO press release, as compared to the preceding month. Nevertheless, slight growth was registered in the production of energy (1.5%), capital goods (0.6%) and intermediate goods (0.3%).
