Colonel Mark Mallia has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation for Medical Services, replacing Carmen Ciantar in the role.
The Health Ministry announced that the appointment will be effective from next month after Ciantar tendered her resignation, which was accepted by new Health Minister Jo Etienne Abela.
Abela thanked Ciantar for her vision and dedication in the leadership of FMS over the last seven and a half years, and wished Mallia luck in his new role.
Mallia had a long career in the Armed Forces of Malta, rising to the rank of Colonel, before he retired and was appointed as CEO of Identity Malta.
