The Academy of Business Leaders is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Borg as Director of Work-based Learning, Curriculum and Professional Development as part of its growth strategy. Martin, who brings over two decades of experience in education and training, will be responsible for the development, implementation and quality enhancement of the Academy of Business Leaders’ new programmes alongside CEO Morgan Parnis and Operations Director Debbie Pavia.

“We pride ourselves on taking a fresh approach to education and that means having the right people in the right roles. In addition to his impressive professional experience and distinguished background, Martin shares the Academy’s enthusiasm for learning, innovation and excellence. He leads with vision, professionalism, integrity, strength, curiosity, and passion – qualities that deeply resonate with us here at the Academy of Business Leaders. We are really excited to have him on board and to see him launch the next chapter for our Academy as we introduce a series of new programmes to our already existing portfolio of industry-leading courses,” said Morgan Parnis, CEO of the Academy of Business Leaders.

Martin, who holds a graduate degree in Mathematics and Physics and a master’s degree in Sustainable Development, will be joining the Academy of Business Leaders from a distinguished career at MCAST where he held several roles, including that of Director for Apprenticeship and Work-Based Learning, Studies, Curriculum Development and Management. Over the years, he has occupied various other educational leadership positions including that of CEO of the National Commission for Further and Higher Education (NCFHE), Director of Academic Affairs at the Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) and Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta.

Martin is also currently reading for his doctorate at Edinburgh Business School, focusing on international business and management with a direct focus on quality in education and training and foreign direct investment.

“Joining the Academy of Business Leaders (ABL) provided me with an exciting challenge to create the necessary ecosystem for quality work-based learning to happen. The existing team at ABL is fresh, youthful and full of energy which makes me further motived to work hard and strengthen the learning provision at the academy. In my role as director of work-based learning, curriculum and professional development at ABL, I will be focusing to introduce market-driven work-based learning programmes, strengthen the existing curriculum, enhance the overall quality, and develop European value projects in education and training with the academy, business leaders and other socio-economic stakeholders,” remarked Martin Borg.
