Malta Medicines Authority is offering an opportunity for students to follow how the authority’s professionals work on research and innovative projects related to medical use of cannabis, Deo Debattista, the Parliamentary Secretary for Consumer Rights, Public Cleansing and Support for the Capital City said, according to a press statement issued by the Maltese government’s Department of Information (DOI).
Mr Debattista said he believes students will benefit from advanced courses organised by the Academy for Patient Centred Excellence and Innovation in Regulatory Sciences in collaboration with the Malta Medicines Authority, the Malta Laboratories Network and Pharmacy Department at the University of Malta.
“The pharmaceutical sector is expanding in new directions to meet the health needs of patients. This is possible through robust educational courses that provide the necessary tools to develop the required skills and competencies, as in the Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Technology,” Mr Debattista said.
The project aims to allow students to work alongside local and international experts involved in the “dynamic and innovative” field of pharmaceutical sciences while obtaining hands-on experience, according to the DOI press statement.
