Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Evarist Bartolo met his Turkish counterpart, foreign minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, for talks on bilateral relations, the situation in the Mediterranean, relations with the European Union, and international issues.
They agreed that Malta and Turkey would strengthen ties in the economic, educational, and trade fields as well as to cooperate in the area of health.
On Libya, they augured that the Government of National Unity is given the necessary support so that the Libyan people could begin to recover from the suffering endured for so many years.
Minister Bartolo hoped for an improvement in relations between Turkey and the European Union and between Greece and Turkey and called for a new impetus for solutions in Cyprus and a reduction in tensions between Russia and Ukraine on Donbass and Crimea.
The two ministers also spoke on strengthening cooperation against terrorism.
