The Malta College for Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) has issued two calls for individuals and enterprises to participate in the EU Interreg project Excellent Mediterranean Net. The project creates cross-border collaboration between Malta and Sicily in guidance, employment and higher education.
The first call is directed toward individuals interested in participating in a job mobility experience in Sicily. MCAST will be selecting 40 Maltese and Malta-based international participants between 18 and 29 years of age to gain a six-month work experience in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating in Sicily. Each selected participant will receive €2,000 per month.
Prospective participants need to fulfil several criteria, including having a full Level 4 qualification. The project targets the unemployed who are actively looking for employment. Disadvantaged people, including people with disabilities of any age, are also eligible.
Chosen candidates will be able to follow their work placement in one of the following sectors: blue economy, health and quality of life, environmental protection and services for sustainable tourism. The second call is directed toward micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating in Malta. Companies are invited to express their interest in offering work placement internships to 60 Italian and international participants for six months.
The participating companies must be operating in the following sectors: blue economy, health and quality of life, environment protection and services for sustainable tourism.
Internships will last six months and provide weekly employment of about 30 hours and monthly employment of not less than 120 hours.
Companies and individuals can apply by sending an email to interreg-men@mcast.edu.mt by 9May.
