Most iconic Moneybase card design to be awarded €2,000

Moneybase, Malta’s award-winning digital financial platform, is offering an opportunity to Malta’s creative community to be featured on one of its new and upcoming card designs. In a nationwide call for entries, Moneybase has launched its first-ever Card Design Competition, inviting local artists, designers, and creative thinkers to shape the future look of its physical and virtual cards.

“At Moneybase, we are committed to involving and engaging with our community. Our customers have a say in shaping the future of the Moneybase platform by contributing ideas through our public roadmap, participating in community events, and joining other special initiatives such as this one,” says Julian Catania, Marketing Manager at Calamatta Cuschieri Moneybase.

The competition, which runs until Friday 21st July 2025, offers Maltese talent the opportunity to win up to €3,000 and see their work become a part of everyday life in wallets and apps across the country.

“Through the Moneybase Card Design Competition, we also aim to create meaningful opportunities for emerging creatives, allowing them to showcase their talents and gain valuable exposure,” added Mr Catania. “Our customers will play an active role by voting for their favourite card designs, turning their preferred designs into reality.”

The winning design will be printed on one of Moneybase’s official physical cards that will be available for new customers to order for free, while second and third place entries will be feature on virtual cards that can be generated instantly in-app. Prizes will be credited directly to the winners’ Moneybase accounts, with €2,000 going to the top entry and €500 each for the two runners-up.

Designs will be judged on originality, creativity, brand alignment, and theme adherence, with a shortlist announced on 28th July. Finalists’ designs will then go up for public voting via a secure online platform, not through likes or shares, ensuring integrity in the process. Voting will remain open until 11th August.

To enter, participants must submit their work using professional design software. AI may be used for inspiration, but not for final submissions. Entries must be submitted using the official online form before 23:59 CET on July 21, 2025.

The full design template and guidelines may be downloaded from the card design competition page.
