A total of 426 private properties were inspected by the Malta Tourism Authority over suspicions of having been in breach of their MTA license, or of having been operating without a licence outright since January of 2023, Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo said on Wednesday.
In answering a parliamentary question in reply to PN MP Mario de Marco, the Minister said that since 2021 there have been more than 900 inspections on private properties to check for the aforementioned reasons. 114 of such inspections occurred in 2021 and 369 in 2022.
These, he said, exclude inspections carried out over alleged breaches in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic regulations.
