Nestlé Malta teamed up with GreenPak and launched its revamped Nestlé Collect Scheme, allowing consumers to earn rewards through recycling packages, according to a press statement sent to Business Malta.
Joining the scheme gives consumers the chance to earn rewards while recycling packaging in a structured and regulated manner – rather than have it all go to waste, the press statement says.
The scheme’s scope is expanded from its initial 40 products from Nescafé alone to approximately 200 Nestlé items. As a result of this, recycling goes beyond coffee jars and packages, and now includes tins, different types of cardboard, and wrappers.
Recycled wrappers, therefore, can be exchanged to a selection of Nestlé products after consumers have opened a Nescafé Collect Scheme account through a free registration online.
Consumers are asked to take the empty packaging to the Nestlé Consumer Centre in Lija to be awarded points for the packaging included in the scheme.
“It is our duty to better the community we form a part of,” said Alfred Borg, Nestlé Malta’s Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager. “We know that we share the same green goals as our consumers. So, this is our way of rewarding loyal consumers in a meaningful way, while helping to our shared environment clean together.”
Nestlé announced earlier that it is committed to making all of it products fully recyclable and/or reusable by 2025.
