Next APS talk: Responding to loss

Published by
The Malta Business Weekly

The upcoming APS talk on Thursday 23 February 2023 will be delivered by Mark Calleja, a Psychological Support Services Coordinator at the Karl Vella Foundation. The talk will look into the impact of grief and loss of a loved one, whether sudden, or anticipated. Everyone handles grief differently. People may follow a rule of silence, as they struggle to communicate with others about loss and death. Some parents and adults might also assume that young children are not curious and observant of death. The talk will present how we can better understand loss and how talking about the subject can help us cope better with the grieving process.

Mark Calleja has been working for Karl Vella Foundation for the past five years. Previously, he held roles in the psycho-social, educational and spiritual fields with different organisations. He also has a keen interest in creative writing, martial arts and mindfulness practice. Mark is qualified in Training and Human Resources Management, Mindbody Therapy and in Consciousness and Transpersonal Psychology, the latter equipping him with a broad range of theory and skills in whole-person development, in particular the psycho-spiritual growth.
