Konnekt is very conscious about behaviour both internally and outside of our organisation. We have seen significant changes within our industry since we started back in 2007. Needless to say, Malta being one of the best-performing economies in Europe, results in a stable business environment, which provides the opportunity for us to delve into new and challenging projects. Over recent years, we have acquired expertise in human resources tools and products. Last year, we decided to transform our own applicant tracking system into a full human resources suite; entitled Talexio. The solution includes payroll, performance management and training. This means we now have a new team fully focused on building this product and we have been making great progress.

We already have several customers live on the platform and we are very excited to be releasing new features every week. We are also in testing a number of machine learning modules that will increase efficiency for the users. These will be launched in November 2019.

As a group of people who are also running a business, we understand financials. We can see that small companies, nowadays, often struggle as salaries have rightfully skyrocketed, and these businesses cannot maintain software developers, who want perks and benefits. Nevertheless, we have experienced that great developers want to be constantly challenged, learn on the job and be empowered to create amazing software. At Preeo we have been able to achieve a lot for our clients with a small team of ten engineers. Our plan is to maintain steady yet conservative growth as we ensure we get the best talent we can to complement our existing team. In the short term, we have a number of products in the pipeline; internal projects and several external for our clients. As we build a dedicated team for Talexio, we want to continue ensuring the success of each project which has been crucial in establishing our reputation.

In the long term would like to be in a position of financial independence to enable us to do good with technology and building software that solves human needs.

The B2B betting firm is currently hiring for some positions for its new Philadelphia-based hub, including customer support and risk management roles, which will initially house a headcount of approximately 30. Kambi sees Philadelphia as the “best location for the business given the current prominence of sports betting regulation on the East Coast and its proximity to current and prospective customers,” the press statement says.

“The opening of a US office has long been part of our plans, and we have taken the time to carefully weigh up a number of different options to ensure we settled on the right location,” says Max Meltzer, Chief Commercial Officer of Kambi.

“In Philadelphia, we have found a city that ticks all the boxes – great proximity to customers, a people passionate about sports and high performing local universities. The team we are building will tap into that local talent and ensure we can provide an even greater level of service to our customers,” he adds.

Kambi reported Q4 revenue growth of 14%, and it powers some sportsbooks on the US East Coast, including Rush Street Interactive and DraftKings in New Jersey and Parx Casino in Pennsylvania. DraftKings launched its sportsbook offering in New Jersey last year following the repeal of PASPA in May and is the current market leader in online sports betting in the state.

Beyond presence in many other countries, Kambi is also licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, and also has operations in the island country.
