Malta’s poverty risk slightly grows to 16.8% in 2017
The rate of at-risk-of-poverty (ARP) in Malta is slightly up by 0.1 percentage point (pp) to the rate of 16.8%. This essentially means that the number of people living in households with a national equivalised income below the at-risk-of-poverty line (€8,868) was 78,685 in 2017.

The deficit of international trade in goods in Malta goes from €315.8m to €385.7m in June 2019, compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the provisional figures published by the National Statistics Office (NSO).
Malta’s inbound tourism grows 5.5% in June
The total number of inbound visitors in Malta grew by 5.5% to an estimated 280,522 in June 2019, as compared to the corresponding month in 2018. Total expenditure also increased by 10.7% to an estimated €235.4m, over the corresponding month in 2018.

The seasonally-adjusted index of industrial production increased by 1.9% in June 2019, compared to the previous month of the same year. The working-day adjusted index of industrial production increased by a y.o.y. 1.7%.
Malta-licensed vehicle numbers further grow by 3.3% in Q2
The stock of Malta-licensed motor vehicles stood grew by 3.3% to 391,914 in the second quarter of the year, over the same period in 2018. An average of 82 new cars were added to roads in Q2.
Graduate numbers grow in 2016-2017 academic year
The number of tertiary-level graduates increased by 11.4% to 4,580 during the academic year 2016-2017 over the previous academic year.
