The annual rate of inflation as measured by the Retail Price Index (RPI) drops to 1.68%, compared to 1.9% of the previous month. The twelve-month moving average rate for July stands at 1.68%

The number of Malta's outbound tourists goes up by 8.2% to an estimated 158,161 during the second quarter. The figure goes up by 7.4% to 305,001 in the first half of the year.

The stock of Malta-licensed motor vehicles stood grew by 3.3% to 391,914 in the second quarter of the year, over the same period in 2018. An average of 82 new cars were added to roads in Q2.

The number of tertiary-level graduates increased by 11.4% to 4,580 during the academic year 2016-2017 over the previous academic year.
