Passenger movements at the Malta International Airport (MLA) grew by a year-on-year 8.7%, reaching 493,201 in November. The month's growth rate was one of the strongest year-to-date increases.

Passenger movements through the Malta International Airport (MLA) grew by 5.6% to 798,453 in July, as compared to the same month a year earlier. This translates to an average of 25,700 passengers travelling through the hub every day. The airport has also recently opened a new seating area, improving seating capacity by 10%.

Malta International Airport (MLA) sees its passenger numbers increasing by 5.9% in the first half of the year, reaching 3.2 million, as compared to the same period a year earlier.

Malta International Airport saw a growth of 4.8% in passenger traffic in April 2019, when compared to the same month of 2018, according to a press statement sent to Business Malta.

Malta’s total cruise passenger traffic goes up by 11.9% to 78,051 in the first quarter of the year, as compared to the same quarter a year earlier. During the period, the number of cruise liner calls also went up by four to a total of 21.

The number of passengers travelling between Malta and Gozo using the ferry connecting the islands is up by 2.3% — to 1,146,490 — in the first quarter of the year, as compared to the same quarter a year earlier.

Malta International Airport sees a year-on-year 5.9% growth in passenger numbers in the November-March period, exceeding the two million glass ceiling.
