Vivian, one of Malta’s leading players in the pharmaceutical industry, has announced the appointment of Steven Ellul as its new Head of Sales and Business Development, a strategic appointment that reflects Vivian’s growth ambitions.
Ellul joins Vivian following a 13-year tenure at Prohealth Ltd, where he served as Pharma Brands Development Manager, overseeing strategic growth initiatives and driving market presence. A graduate of the University of Malta with a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, Ellul brings extensive expertise in management, healthcare, pharmaceutical sales, and business strategy.
Vivian’s Managing Director, Denise Borg Manche, highlighted the significance of this appointment, describing it as a milestone in the company’s continued development.
“Sourcing and retaining talent is a growing challenge across industries, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector, where the talent pool is limited. Attracting someone of Steven’s calibre reflects the strength of the Vivian brand and demonstrates our commitment to fostering an environment that values professional growth. This appointment reinforces our position as a competitive player in the local market and signals a robust growth trajectory for 2025 and beyond,” she said.
Ellul will oversee initiatives to bolster Vivian’s sales and marketing capabilities while supporting its broader strategic goals. His mandate includes enhancing the operational structure and driving a more aggressive approach to market engagement, positioning the company for continued success in a competitive landscape.
Yan Grima, Vivian’s General Manager, expressed confidence in the new hire, praising Ellul’s leadership and enthusiasm.
“Steven is a natural leader whose energy and professionalism align perfectly with our values at Vivian. His early days with us have been focused on building rapport with the team and familiarizing himself with our growth ambitions. We are confident that his insights and experience will make a substantial impact as we execute our strategic vision for the future,” Grima said.
This strategic appointment underscores Vivian’s commitment to scaling its operations and strengthening its position within Malta’s pharmaceutical sector. The company aims to sustain its upward trajectory while enhancing its capacity to innovate and compete.
