First launched in 2012, the APS Regular Income Ethical Fund has undergone a revamp, emerging with a fresh identity as the “APS Ethical Fund”. This fund was the first-ever Maltese retail ethical investment vehicle long before the term “ESG” gained widespread recognition, actively investing in companies and organisations that demonstrate a responsible approach to social, environmental, and governance issues.
As a sub-fund of APS Funds SICAV plc, the Ethical Fund primarily invests in a diverse portfolio of government and corporate bonds, equities, and may also hold units in selected Collective Investment Schemes/ETFs, bank deposits, and cash. These investment choices strictly adhere to the guidelines set forth in the Fund’s ethical policy. Activities with a negative impact on society, such as firearms, tobacco, gambling, alcohol, and others, are excluded from the fund’s investment universe. Additionally, the fund avoids supporting entities that engage in harmful labour and environmental practices.
APS Funds SICAV plc is managed by ReAPS Asset Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of APS Bank. Josef Portelli, APS Bank Head of Investment Management and ReAPS Managing Director, said, “We are proud to relaunch the APS Ethical Fund, which not only aims to achieve strong investment returns but also aligns with our commitment to ethical investment principles. By investing in companies and organisations that prioritise social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and sound governance, we strive to make a positive impact while delivering financial growth for our investors.”
Approved and issued by APS Funds SICAV plc, APS Centre, Tower Street, Birkirkara BKR 4012. APS Ethical Fund is a Sub-Fund of APS Funds SICAV p.l.c. and is licensed as a Collective Investment Scheme by the Malta Financial Services Authority under the Investment Services Act and qualifies as a Maltese UCITS.
