Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Julia Farrugia Portelli and Malta Film Commissioner Johann Grech visited the production whilst shooting at the Malta Film Studios where they met the producer and director of the movie.

Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Julia Farrugia Portelli, who was shown around the set by the film commissioner Johann Grech together with Simon Sansone, the local assistant producer of this film, expressed her satisfaction that Malta is once again being chosen to film another international production. She said that the whole production is being filmed in Malta. Minister Farrugia Portelli explained that 85% of the crew are Maltese and praised the fact that this production will be filmed in more than one place in Malta which include the Malta Film Studios in Kalkara, Ċirkewwa, Mellieħa and Għajn Tuffieħa, all of which are wonderful places through which we can continue to advertise our country internationally. She mentioned how Malta is the perfect destination for the shooting of this film where besides the ideal weather, our country has what is necessary to shoot this film.

Film Commissioner Johann Grech said that it is satisfying to see more productions shooting in various locations around Malta, and the Malta Film Studios. This production involves around 100 crew people in Malta with another 120 Maltese extras. “I am positive that Malta will keep on attracting productions of different genres from different countries, and we will continue to strengthen the industry, making it a world-class film industry.”

Director James Nunn said that his first experience in shooting in Malta is going brilliant. The filming locations, weather and Maltese architecture helped in making the whole shooting days smooth and tranquil. James also gave credit to the local Maltese film crew.

The film Jet Ski is expected to be released in cinemas in November of next year.
