Cloud services provider BMIT is investing €10m in the building of its newest data centre in Malta, which is set to open in Żejtun by next year, according to a press statement put out by the company.

BMIT’s Żejtun data centre will have a total capacity of more than 400 racks and will be fully certified to Tier 3 standards by the Uptime Institute, the company says. The data centre will be located on a newly built campus which will also house the company’s primary technical, commercial, administrative and management teams.

“We look forward to providing our esteemed customers and potential clients with even more capacity in what will be one of the best-equipped facilities on the island. Part of our commitment to customers is to keep investing in new technologies and infrastructure to provide the best possible service ultimately. While we are also expanding our portfolio of IT solutions, we are still focusing on improving on what we are already established in”, says Gordon Bezzina, Chief Technical Officer at BMIT.
