CBM supports Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation with €50,000 donation

The ​Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation (MCCFF) received a donation of €50,000 from the Central Bank of Malta (CBM), raised from the sale of coin cards of the €2 commemorative coins with the theme “”Cultural Heritage”, according to a press release issued by the government’s Department of Information (DOI).

President George Vella was presented with the donation of €50,000 by Mario Vella, Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, during a courtesy call at The Palace in Valletta. The President expressed his gratitude for the donation made to the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation (MCCFF) and said that such a donation will allow the MCCFF to assist more individuals that require their services.

The €2 commemorative coin is the third in a series of five being issued by the central bank. The coin was designed by the secondary school students who were selected by an expert panel in a design contest. The next two coins in the series for 2019 and 2020 will be based on the themes “Nature and Environment” and “Games” respectively, according to the press release.
