Enemalta offers compensation to Marsaskala residents hit by power cut

Enemalta is offering compensation to Marsaskala residents who were hit by a power cut on Wednesday, the company said in a statement.

Our workers are still carrying out repair works after an incident yesterday in Marsaskala, during which some cables were damaged by a private contractor, affecting the electricity supply, Enemalta said

Since more than one cable was hit, Enemalta’s operations in the area were impacted, and our technical teams are still working to fix the damage.

While electricity supply has now been restored to all consumers, Enemalta also made use of generators to supply power in certain areas, it said.

However, due to the incident, certain areas were left without electricity for an extended period yesterday. Enemalta apologised for the inconvenience caused by this incident and, in this case, “will be activating the compensation mechanism it has used in previous years”.
