HSBC Bank Malta has been named Malta’s best trade finance service provider in Euromoney’s 2021 Trade Finance Survey. The same survey, of more than 11,000 businesses globally, also named HSBC as the world’s best trade finance service provider for a record fourth consecutive year.

Joyce Grech, Head of Commercial Banking at HSBC Malta said, “The past year has, of course, been particularly challenging. Throughout, however, the team at HSBC has been doing its utmost to ensure that we continue to deliver high quality service and innovative solutions to our customers. This recognition, which comes directly from the business community, is testament to our team’s dedication towards helping our customers chart a way forward, especially during uncertain times such as these.”

Gaetano Sammut, Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance at HSBC Malta commented, “Last year, as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic hit the local economy, we introduced a series of measures to further support businesses negatively affected by the outbreak. These initiatives, tailored to customers facing supply chain disruption, built on the support already in place for business customers affected by COVID-19.”

Globally, HSBC was awarded first place on Euromoney’s Market Leader Ranking in 23 individual markets, including Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, and was voted best overall service provider on Euromoney’s Best Service Ranking in 17 markets, including the United Kingdom and other major markets.
