Group plans 11 new restaurants for 2024

Premier Capital p.l.c, the Maltese company which operates 185 McDonald’s restaurants across six European countries, is planning 11 new stores this year as it celebrates the results of 2023.

The group served over 85 million customers last year, 11% more than in 2022. In just one day, on June 1, Premier Capital served a record 337,190 customers across the Baltics, Greece, Malta and Romania.

The increase in customers was primarily achieved through expanding the group’s network, with 11 new restaurants last year. The group invested more than €33 million in opening new stores and refurbishing existing ones, incorporating technologies like Mobile Order and Pay to provide a better experience for guests.

Premier Capital is part of Hili Ventures and is the developmental licensee for McDonald’s in Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta and Romania, with a team of almost 11,000 people. The group’s biggest operation is in Romania, which today has 102 restaurants and accounts for 54% of the group’s revenue.

Premier Capital reported consolidated revenue of €646 million for the year ending December 2023, with EBITDA reaching €89 million. Pre-tax profit totalled €51 million.

“Our measure of success is not just financial. We are proud of every important milestone we achieve, but our driving force is to live true to McDonald’s values. Doing business ethically, building real trust with our customers, nurturing talent across our organization and being strong partners who support sustainable growth are the pillars of our strategy. We also strive to be good neighbours within our communities and remain determined to keep reducing our environmental footprint and increasing our positive impact,” said Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Melo Hili.

Premier Capital is also the founding partner of four Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Chapters in Greece, Latvia, Malta and Romania which support families in need within their respective countries. The group donated over half a million euros in 2023, raised through initiatives across all stores.
