Melita confirms zero impact of Brexit for its mobile customers

Melita Limited has confirmed that the UK will remain on the list of ‘roam like at home’ countries for all its mobile customers, despite the country’s departure from the EU. This will remain the case for as long as UK operators continue to maintain current agreements, and no changes are imposed by the EU.   As a result, post-paid Endless plan customers can continue to enjoy endless data, calls and SMS, regardless of other Melita services they may or may not be subscribed to, from just €24.99 per month.

Melita currently offers three Endless plans each with a different maximum mobile internet speed. All three plans, however, include endless data and unlimited calls and SMS in Malta. They also offer endless calls and SMS, together with data bundles, while roaming in the EU and the UK.

The three plans are ‘Surfer’ which offers a maximum mobile internet speed of 3Mbps, ‘Streamer’ which offers a maximum speed of 20Mbps, and ‘Racer’ which offers customers the fastest available 4.5G speed in their current location. Customers who subscribe to any of these three plans can also choose from a range of phones, with recent models such as the iPhone 12 available for a deposit of just €200 with the remaining balance spread out in monthly installments across the duration of the contract.

Mireille Muscat, Head of Marketing at Melita, said, “Now that any uncertainty over the impact of Brexit on mobile roaming rates has been completely cleared up, Melita is happy to confirm that the UK will remain a ‘roam like at home’ country for all our mobile customers. Thanks to our simplified pricing structure customers on our Endless post-paid plan can all enjoy endless calls, data and SMS from €24.99 per month. The only decision customers need to take is on the speed of their mobile internet connection.”
