Maltese telco provider Melita Ltd’s TV service subscriber numbers have exceeded 100,000, granting the firm approximately 60% market share, according to a press statement sent to Business Malta citing statistics by the Malta Communications Authority.

“Melita continues to grow its business across multiple segments as our significant investments in our people, technology, and content continue to bear fruit,” said Simon Poljask, TV and Fixed Services Manager at Melita. Even amid fierce competition and changing TV viewing behaviour and expectations, “Melita continues to offer excellent picture quality, with a mixture of content and flexibility which is clearly appreciated by viewers,” Mr Poljask said.

Melita TV subscriber homes are equipped with High Definition (HD) set-top boxes, while over half of Melita’s customers have access to Melita’s interactive NexTV decoder, allowing viewers to record and rewind their favourite programmes.

Melita TV is available in bundle packages. The practice of bundling in Malta has shown to be the main driver of growth in television and landline telephone subscriber numbers.
