Nestlé Purina, a global leader in pet care, has stepped up in swift action in support of the NGO Malta Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (MSPCA) as they embark on much-needed refurbishments to their century-old shelter in Floriana, beginning February 2024.

Understanding the imminent danger posed to the sheltered animals during the renovation period, Nestlé Purina is stepping up to ease the transition by donating a supply of PURINA ONE® wet and dry cat and dog food. This contribution aims to ensure the health and well-being of the shelter’s residents as they are temporarily relocated to foster homes for the duration of the work.

“Purina recognises the urgency of the situation at MSPCA and is proud to provide immediate support to ensure the safety and comfort of the animals during this transitional period,” said Katriel Coppola, Purina’s Product Manager at Nestlé Malta. “Relocation can be a stressful experience for animals, impacting their appetite and overall health. PURINA ONE® formulas are designed to support pets’ gut microbiome balance and bolster their immune systems, helping to mitigate any adverse effects of the relocation process.”

“Through this food donation, we’re not only assisting MCPSA with their refurbishment efforts indirectly, but we are also prioritising the well-being of the animals and alleviating the financial burden on the shelter and fosterers,” added Katriel. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the foster families who have generously offered their homes to these pets during this temporary period of transition.”

At Purina, nutrition is at the heart of what we do. But it’s not all we do. Purina Cares and is committed to doing more of what matters for pets, pet lovers and the planet we share.
