President George Vella launched the Ball of the August Moon 2020, which is going to be held on the 1st of August at the Verdala Palace gardens in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation (MCCFF).

This will be the second ball organised by the current Presidency. The President and Mrs Vella will once again keep the tradition by organising it at the Verdala Palace on the first Saturday of August.

Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, Organising Committee Chairman of the Ball, described this time as one during which we must unite with hope, joy and courage so that events such as the Ball of the August Moon that reflect the Maltese character, take place. He thanked all those who are helping, including all the sponsors that are contributing in some way.

On his part, President Vella noted how the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation (MCCFF) provides various forms of help to vulnerable persons, including patients undergoing treatment abroad and other forms of social help.

He stated that the MCCFF, apart from donations, depends on a number of activities that take place during the year and therefore explained how this year’s August Moon Ball, with all the necessary precautions, as recommended by the Health Authorities, is a crucial event in view of fundraising for those in need.

Tickets are available for €100 on a first-come-first-served basis and can be bought online from www.augustmoonball.com, from the Palace in Valletta, or from Sant’Anton Palace.

For more information, one can visit the site www.augustmoonball.com, or telephone 22053500 or 21226226.
