Seasonally-adjusted turnover increased by 0.8% in the second quarter of 2019 over the previous quarter. When compared to the corresponding period of 2018, working-day adjusted industrial turnover increased by 2%.
Malta’s industrial prices grow y.o.y. but drop m.o.m. in July
The industrial producer price index grow by 1.75% in July 2019 when compared to the same month of the previous year. However, the producer price index for total industry drops by 0.47% over the previous month of the same year.
Maltese libraries boast of more book loans in 2018
The total of book loans increased by 12.2% (111,370), standing at 1,022,346 in 2018, compared to the previous year as reported by Malta Libraries. The increase in book loans was registered across all areas.

LeoVegas sees organic revenue growing 8% in Q2
LeoVegas Group saw its revenue increasing organically by 8% from €87.4m to €94.4m during Q2 2019, as compared to the same period a year earlier. Preliminary revenue grew by 9%, from €27.1m to €29.7 in July, as compared to the same month a year earlier.

Malta’s poverty risk slightly grows to 16.8% in 2017
The rate of at-risk-of-poverty (ARP) in Malta is slightly up by 0.1 percentage point (pp) to the rate of 16.8%. This essentially means that the number of people living in households with a national equivalised income below the at-risk-of-poverty line (€8,868) was 78,685 in 2017.
Malta’s inbound tourism grows 5.5% in June
The total number of inbound visitors in Malta grew by 5.5% to an estimated 280,522 in June 2019, as compared to the corresponding month in 2018. Total expenditure also increased by 10.7% to an estimated €235.4m, over the corresponding month in 2018.
Malta’s industrial production grows 1.9% in June
The seasonally-adjusted index of industrial production increased by 1.9% in June 2019, compared to the previous month of the same year. The working-day adjusted index of industrial production increased by a y.o.y. 1.7%.
