Gaming operator ibet has selected Betsson as its sportsbook provider for its upcoming European entry, according to a press statement sent to Business Malta. The deal is Betsson’s first pure sportsbook supplier pact that the group considers stepping stone for its B2B offering.

Malta-based Claymore Group will launch ibet in May before the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship. For the European launch ibet’s partnership with Betsson will include both a technology platform and odds compiling.

“This is a milestone for us for many reasons. It does not only manifest that we have a competitive sportsbook product, but also demonstrates how the group’s strong technology platforms can offer new B2B possibilities. We are very proud that the Claymore Group has chosen us as a supplier for their European venture,” said Pontus Lindwall, CEO Betsson AB.

“The Claymore Group has ambitious plans for ibet in 2020 and our partnership with Betsson is of vital importance as we aim to replicate the success we have enjoyed in Asia with LeTou,” said Claymore Group Chairman Paul Fox.

The post Betsson partners with ibet on B2B sportsbook deal first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.

Microsoft Malta has signed an agreement with Harvest Technology — that incorporates PTL Ltd and APCO Systems Ltd — through which Harvest is becoming a Microsoft Innovation Centre (MIC) Partner, contributing expertise, knowledge and talent development to all those using the MIC, according to a press statement sent to Business Malta.

“This is the first in a series of new partnerships that the Microsoft Innovation Centre will be announcing over the coming months. Harvest and Microsoft Malta share the same commitment to supporting the growth of the local startup ecosystem and our plan is that through future initiatives, we will keep supporting the community together,” said Kyle Anastasi from Microsoft Malta.

“At a time when Microsoft has been reviewing its MIC programme in other markets, we are proud to say that in Malta, the MIC has been acknowledged for its constant growth and increased role in Malta’s IT ecosystem. We have been growing from strength to strength and the new partnerships that are currently being established keep us in line with our corporate mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more” added Kyle Anastasi.

“Partnering and supporting a success story like the Microsoft Innovation Centre is a source of great pride for us because it will give us the opportunity to bring our expertise and market presence to the table,” said Godwin Caruana, CEO of Harvest Technology. “This, together with Microsoft’s technologies, products and expertise should create the necessary synergies and learning opportunities to strengthen the start-up eco-system that is becoming increasingly more relevant in the market,” he added.

Inaugurated six years ago, the Microsoft Innovation Centre has been part of the local tech ecosystem, acting as a point of reference for technology experts, businesses, startups, students and educators to learn more how their work and operations can be improved through Microsoft’s technology, the press statement says.

Microsoft Innovation Centre has hosted and mentored startups since its establishment. To date, over 180 technology startups have been hosted at the MIC where more outreach activities are being organised in line with the evolution of newer technologies such as cloud computing, big data, blockchain, iGaming, artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality.

The post Harvest Technology becomes Microsoft Innovation Centre Partner first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.

Gaming Standards Association (GSA) and Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) mark a decade-long partnership this year, according to a press release. The two bodies tagged this anniversary as an important milestone. They say that their cooperation has resulted in increased education, improvements in standards and spurred gaming technology research.

“When we first began exploring the idea of a partnership between GSA and MPI, we found we shared a desire to educate young people about the technical issues that support the gaming business. Further, we wanted to create more awareness of the industry and the standards it challenged us to develop, all while staying alert to the role that new technologies can play especially in Asia,” said Peter DeRaedt, the President of GSA.

Macao Polytechnic Institute is a public institution of higher education with an emphasis on applied knowledge and skills. It offers courses and research possibilities in — but not limited to — gaming and recreation, casino management, business, marketing, e-commerce, and management.

Gaming Standards Association is an international trade association that creates benefits for gaming manufacturers, suppliers, operators and regulators.

Scout Gaming entered into a licensing agreement with Indian Playsafe Games, which makes the brand Scoring 11 accessible for the Indian company. Scoring 11 will run in the same company as Indibet.com and Scout Gaming’s full product range will be available on the Indian platform, according to a press statement by Scout Gaming.

“This is the third customer agreement we sign where the counter-party is expected to have a significant presence in the Indian market that is growing strongly. Cricket is a huge sport locally, and I am excited about continuing to grow the liquidity network we have established. Further on this means larger prize pools and a more attractive product,” says Andreas Ternström, CEO at Scout Gaming.

“We see how Fantasy Sports has strong growth in the country. With players like Dream11 who are extremely popular at the forefront, we have explored the possibilities of expanding our value chain to operator business focusing exclusively on fantasy sports. After that scan of the market, Scout Gaming came across as the most competitive player, having established a global liquidity network with access to both popular local sports such as Cricket and Kabaddi, but also international leagues such as Premier League are something we believe will be winning in the long run,” adds Harshit Mehta, CEO of Indiabet.com.

Sports Gaming UK which owns Indiabet.com holds a stake in Scoring 11 (Playsafe Games Pvt Ltd). IndiaBet is run by Harshit Mehta in India and he owns majority shares in Playsafe Games Pvt Ltd. Indiabet.com is originally an affiliate focusing on the Indian market. Scout Gaming’s products are expected to be launched during the year. Scoring 11 is also likely to be part of Scout Gaming’s global liquidity network. Fantasy Sports is considered a skill game in India and is thus entirely legal.

Scout Gaming Group is a licensed and regulated provider of B2B Daily Fantasy Sports and pool betting. The group has approximately 70 staff and is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden with development and operations in Bergen, Norway and Lviv, Ukraine. Sales, support and product management is handled from the office in Malta.

The post Scout Gaming inks deal with India’s Playsafe Games first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.

Blockchain financial services and fintech firm Blackmoon Financial Group entered into a strategic partnership with legal and tax network <g class="gr_ gr_3 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation multiReplace" id="3" data-gr-id="3">Dr.</g> Werner & Partner with the intentions of creating a branded Exchange Traded Index (ETx), according to a press statement in mid-January.

Blackmoon expects the close ties to enable them working together with the network of attorneys, experts for international compliance and international tax law, accountants and financial advisors on the ETx, which is planned to be directly linked to Dr. Werner & Partner’s client base.

Blackmoon, a blockchain investment platform, issues branded <g class="gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="4" data-gr-id="4">ETxs</g> on behalf of its partners in order to incentivise traders and speculators to take the risk in the market, by offering them a fungible financial product to arbitrage for profit — further adding bids and provides to a security token offering (STO) that would otherwise not exist. Blackmoon swears this practice effectively creates a balanced and stable price.

“The partnership with Blackmoon will enable us to extend our (already advanced) crypto advisory services with security token offerings. The amount of interest for that sector is overwhelming, and together with Blackmoon we will provide a state-of-the-art-service, that will enable the right client to launch an STO from A-Z,” says Philipp Sauerborn, a senior employee at <g class="gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation multiReplace" id="4" data-gr-id="4">Dr.</g> Werner & Partner.

“We are pleased to have discovered such an incredible company to partner with, and we foresee releasing the Dr. Werner & Partner ETx as soon as possible to offer this creative investment opportunity to investors across the globe,” says Oleg Seydak, CEO of Blackmoon.

The strategic partnership with <g class="gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation multiReplace" id="4" data-gr-id="4">Dr.</g> Werner & Partner is one of many that Blackmoon intends to form over the coming months, en route to their ultimate goal to have an entire suite of innovative <g class="gr_ gr_3 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="3" data-gr-id="3">ETxs</g> to offer their clients as well as those of their partners.

The post Blackmoon partners up with Dr. Werner & Partner in creating ETx first appeared on The Malta Business Weekly.
