Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade Ian Borg visited Turkey for the second session of the Joint Trade Commission between Malta and Turkey.
During this session, Minister Ian Borg together with the Minister of Trade of Turkey Mehmet Muş, agreed that this Commission is a clear demonstration of the strong bilateral relations that exist between the two countries, even in the light of the visit he had a few weeks ago with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
During the Commission meeting, Minister Borg stated that Malta will be working so that in the near future a trade delegation can also be potentially set up in Turkey, so that more meetings can be held between businesses from the two countries.
It was also highlighted how the two countries are looking into collaboration in various sectors, primarily technology, tourism, film, education, agriculture, maritime and even infrastructure.
The ministers also discussed the difficulties encountered by businessmen from both countries from time to time and how they can be alleviated.
