International Women’s Day at the Central Bank of Malta

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Governor of the Central Bank of Malta, Professor Edward Scicluna, hosted an event for female staff members. The gathering provided an opportunity for the staff members to connect, exchange ideas and share their valuable experiences.

The event underscored the Bank’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the vital role that women play in central banking.

In his address, Governor Scicluna emphasised the significance of a diverse and inclusive workplace. He stated that “While we have made considerable progress in achieving gender balance, there is still more work to be done. Women bring unique perspectives and experiences to the decision table, and it is our duty to value and promote their contributions.”

This gathering was jointly organised by the Bank’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committeeand Governor Scicluna, Governor Scicluna, reaffirming their shared commitment to advancing gender equality within the institution.
