Medical Cannabiz World is bringing together blockchain service providers and medical cannabis industry insiders from the global scene at the Intercontinental Hotel in St Julian’s Malta on 4-5 November, according to a press statement sent to Business Malta.

The inaugural edition of Medical Cannabiz World aims to foster a hub for the recently-unlocked sector by the Maltese government that has expressed commitment to supporting the market in the Mediterranean.

The event expects to attract over 2,000 delegates from the medical cannabis sector’s production, logistics, payment processing, KYC, legal and regulatory fields.

The organisers believe that the medical cannabis sector could benefit from tapping into the immense potential blockchain and distributed ledger technologies solutions keep promising. As such, the Medical Cannabiz World summit is being organised as part of the so-called Malta Week: the second part will see the organisation of the Malta AI & Blockchain Summit held at the same venue on 7-8 November.

“This is another huge milestone for both Malta and the wider business community involved in the life-changing medicinal cannabis industry,” said Eman Pulis, Founder and CEO of SiGMA Group — the organiser of the Malta Week, as well as internationally recognised iGaming summit SiGMA.

“With Malta’s new regulatory environment in this area, we’re seeing a significant number of companies coming to the island to take part in the summit, many of which are either looking for angel funding from early-bird investors or offering investment opportunities,” Mr Pulis added.

The SiGMA event, which is often referred to as the World’s iGaming Village, will be held on 27-29 November. Organisers are expecting 125,000 attendees, 2,500 affiliates, 400 sponsors and exhibitors, and 200 speakers from more than 80 countries for the iGaming event at the end of November.
